Volunteer with Dementia Friendly Fort Worth

Dementia Friendly Fort Worth is lucky to have many volunteers, but we are always in need of more.

We use volunteers to help at the following events and activities:

1. 5th Street Cafe and Peer Support Group: Volunteers interact with individuals with dementia and aid in activities while their care partners are in a support group in the other room. This event occurs the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. CDT with lunch afterward.

2. Daily Zoom Program: Volunteers can help run a daily activity program for older adults on Zoom Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. Some activities include TCU Frog Bingo, Trivia, Jeopardy, “Guess the Song”, and more.

3. Dementia Friendly Mentorship Program: Student volunteers are paired with an individual with dementia to serve as their mentor. This entails either meeting up online or in person with your mentor monthly. This relationship provides our older adults with the valuable socialization they need and gives students the opportunity to learn about the experiences of someone living with dementia.
